As a parent and a professional dance teacher myself, who has had their child attend Adele Taylor School of Dance for over 8 years, I cannot speak highly enough of this dance school. All the teachers are highly skilled in their ability and approach their classes with enthusiasm, confidence. The overall care they show and give to their pupils is exemplary.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Adele Taylor's school of dance to anyone interested in pursuing dance as a hobby or a profession.
My daughter has attended the Adele Taylor School of Dance for the past 10 years and I can not recommend it highly enough. It is the perfect safe environment to nurture and grow a child's love of dance in all styles and will give them the confidence and self-belief to perform. The school is super friendly and all the teachers are very passionate, supportive and approachable. Whether just for fun or to compete nationally your child will be in safe hands at ATD.
''Adele Taylor family has been a huge part of our lives for several years and will be forever. We have created so many happy memories during the time my daughter has danced with Adele Taylor including All England Finals and Miss Dance if GB Finals.
Miss Taylor and her team are the most incredible and motivational teachers, they have inspired my daughter in every way possible, and thanks to them is now living her dream at Urdang Academy in London.
It has been worth every minute of the 2 hours round trip from Tadcaster to Huddersfield 4 nights a week.'
Our daughter had been dancing for ATD for nearly 3 years. During this time I have seen her confidence and love for dancing grow so much and it fills me with so much pride to be associated with such a prestigious dance school. Miss Taylor and her staff at the school work tirelessly to bring out the very best of abilities in all children whether they want to dance for fun or to dance competitively. The standard of performance in the shows are equivalent to a West End performance and as a parent, it is truly inspiring to watch and to be a part of. Nothing gives us more pleasure than watching our daughter progress in her dance exams and seeing her technique improve because of the dedication of her teachers and the school's high standards. We love our ATD dance family!
I have known Miss Taylor for well over 30 years when I started dancing at age 3 right until my late teens, over that time period I was lucky enough to have amazing opportunities to perform in competitions, shows and exams to name a few and these are memories that I love a will treasure forever. So when my daughter showed an interest in wanting to dance I didn't hesitate to take her to ATD. My daughter has now been apart of the school for over twelve years and it has become her biggest passion one that she hopes to pursue as a career. She had had fabulous opportunities to work with industry specialist for workshops within the school, and her dance/performing has taken us all over the country for competitions and she has been lucky enough to perform in some fantastic london theatres. My daughter has also achieved numerous championship and All England tItles thank you to the dedication and attention to detail in all aspects of teaching. Miss Taylor and all her faculty have years of experience and that really shows in the quality of their teaching, and I feel that they bring out the best in any child, giving everyone an opportunity to shine at their own pace.
My eleven-year-old son has been attending Adele Taylor Dance since he was six and he loved it from day one.
The dedication, passion and experience of Adele and her teachers are second to none. Each child is treated as an individual and they make sure to bring out every child's full potential. My son always felt at ease and included despite being always surrounded by girls and he wouldn't miss any lesson at "Miss Taylor's" whatever else was going on.
We love the wide range of experiences that the school offers such as the great variety of classes, exams from different boards, shows productions, dance competitions, etc, which provide the children with a broad idea of the dance world and as well as keep them totally engaged.
I can't thank enough to Adele for all her support, hard work and the amazing training that my son has received all these years which have pursued him to have a passion for ballet and fulfil his dream of gaining a full-time place at the Royal Ballet School, among many other achievements. But at the same time, he will greatly miss what he calls his "second home".
I would thoroughly recommend ATD to anybody whose child wants to dance just for fun or considering dancing as a future career.
Our little boy has been coming to Adele Taylor School of Dance for 10 months and he loves every minute. The school has such a fantastic reputation and has fully lived up to our expectations. Miss Taylor has been so welcoming and we feel she and her team are giving our son the best opportunity to fulfil his potential. We would definitely recommend the school to anybody whose child has a passion for dance.
"Miss Taylor taught me to dance from the age of 3 – 18, 20 years later when looking for a school for my daughter to attend there was no hesitation which school I should choose. Miss Taylor provides top class training with a perfect balance between discipline & fun. The results she achieves speak for themselves & all her pupil are immensely proud to train under her tuition. Constantly challenging herself to be the best & provide the most up-to-date dances & techniques, nothing gets old at ADT, including Miss Taylor who still looks exactly the same as she did 38 years ago!!!! Anyone wanting the highest quality dance training should look no further than ADT"
My daughter has been a pupil at the Adele Taylor School of Dance for eleven years. All the staff at the school have encouraged her to perform to her best ability and she has loved taking part in shows and exams. The shows at the Lawrence Batley theatre are spectacular and a real tribute to the professionalism and dedication Miss Taylor inspires in her staff and students (and the parents!). Outside the school, learning the discipline of dance has given my daughter the poise and confidence to deliver presentations and speeches, in one case to over a thousand people at a major event. Through their love of dance, the students have formed deep and long-lasting friendships.
'I have known Adele for four years. During my time at ADT, I have found Adele to be a dedicated dance teacher.
She has a passion for her students and thrives to give them the best opportunities. This is demonstrated with how my daughter has improved since joining. Because of this, I highly recommend ADT to anyone. '
"My daughter, age 12 has danced at Huddersfield town centre-based, Adele Taylor School of Dance (ATD) since she was 5 years old.
ATD has been a wonderful foundation for her dancing and singing passions and she has flourished in ballet, tap, modern, musical theatre, street, RAD, fitness and gym with IDTA grades yearly. ATD also supports and encourages students who wish to compete in local and national competitions of which team ATD has won many trophies and medals.
Every couple of years ATD puts on a spectacular show at LBT, featuring highly polished and professional, musical theatre, ballet, modern, group dances from ages 2 to 18. The effort and commitment from all the team and students is exceptional and it's a truly wonderful experience for everyone involved.
The coaching is second to none and paves the way for any budding dancer to achieve her dreams. Not only is the school excellent; it also is a foundation for commitment, self-belief and the confidence to achieve with hard work and dedication.
Over the last 7 years at ATD my daughter has made lasting friendships, wonderful memories of the LBT shows, group dance competitions and much more. I'm proud to say she has grown into a confident strong young lady who still loves to dance and sing more than ever!
As an ATD class representative over the last few years, I have experienced the hard work and dedication ATD puts into its students and it's a pleasure to be part of a great team of parents and carers who support the school and its students."
My daughter Maddie joined The Adele Taylor Dance School when she was 11 years old. She had seen the show at the Lawrence Batley Theatre and said “I want to be part of a brilliant show like that”.
Maddie attended group classes 3 to 4 times a week and additional one to one lessons. The teaching was very technical, disciplined and of a very high standard. Teaching was in mainly in house and was supplemented in later years with guest teachers and choreographers which included successful former pupils. My daughter flourished, receiving high marks in her exams and winning many prizes at the various dance festivals that the school participated in.
Every two years the show at the Lawrence Batley Theatre was staged. This required dedication from teachers, pupils and parents to ensure the show was a success. All the pupils in school danced in the shows and worked extremely hard with the teachers and choreographers to deliver the most amazing show numbers. The standard of the dancing in these performances rank amongst some of the most professional I have seen.
Miss Taylor created an environment for the children to succeed, with the provision of quality tutoring, the shows and encouraging the children to participate in Dance Festivals and Regional, National and British Championships. Maddie thrived on this and became a very accomplished and successful dancer winning many titles including securing runner up in the English National Ballet Championships and third place in Miss Dance of Great Britain.
Maddie dreamt of becoming a professional dancer from a very young age. Miss Taylor recognised her talent and provided encouragement and support to make this possible. In 2017 she received a funded place at The Urdang Academy where she trained professionally for 3 years and has secured a role in Hairspray on the West End. Dreams do come true.
Maddie returns to Adele’s to teach classes, workshops and choreograph dances.
My daughter has been attending Adele Taylor's School of Dance since her 3rd birthday and is now nearly 16.
She loved it from her very first lesson. Everyone was very welcoming and my daughter has made lifelong friendships. The inclusion and the examples set from the older students made it a place we both wanted to spend our time in.
Adele is the most inspirational and passionate dance teacher and gives her students the most unbelievable opportunities from amazing workshops with other talented teachers to the most emotionally beautiful choreography. Many of the competition dances my daughter has had will always have a piece of my heart.
Adele and her staff offer excellent training in all aspects of dance in a positive, nurturing and encouraging environment and she has an incredible skill at setting the right building blocks for your child, taking into account their character and individuality.
Adele's attention to detail in all aspects of dance is second to none whether it be classes, exams, competition dances or shows. Members of my family have often commented that Adele's school shows are like being at the west end and they have watched Nataleah progress, grow and develop under Adele's impressive tutelage.
As someone who had no previous experience of dance, many times I have counted my lucky stars that it was Adele's studio we chose. Originally from Buckinghamshire, we have had both the opportunity and desire to move back but we could never leave Adele's and is our main reason for staying put.
Whether you are looking for a hobby or a career in dance, I highly recommend Adele Taylor's school of Dance, you won't regret it.
At the age of 2 and a half my daughter had seen older children tap dancing and asked for her own pair of "clip clop shoes" & to attend "clip clop lessons".
My daughter (now aged almost 11) has been attending Adele Taylor's School of Dance since. Miss Taylor and all her staff are extremely professional and always have the children's best interests at heart.
The dance school caters for everyone from those who would like to attend weekly classes, to those who would like to take exams, through those who are interested in competing.
My daughter's love of dancing (in particularly tap dancing) has continued to grow throughout her time at the school and I cannot thank Miss Taylor & her team enough for the encouragement and support they have given her.
The amazing memories which have been created throughout the years are something which we will always treasure. Our family and friends look forward to the outstanding performances which the school put on at The Lawrence Batley Theatre and we will certainly never forget the amazing moment my daughter won the All England Dance Festival in London performing what she has always loved - tap dancing.
We have always felt welcome and a part of the dance school, though after attending for 8 years it's now our "dance family."
If you are looking for a dance school for your child to join, look no further... taking my daughter to her first lesson was by far one of the best decision I've made.
"A friendly dance school, where our daughters receive an extremely high standard of dance training, fitness and musical theatre classes from exceptionally talented teachers. 5-star rating"
After dancing myself for 16 years I was very happy that my daughter wanted to follow in my footsteps.
I have known of 'Adele Taylor School of Dance' for many years and know of the extremely high standard set and achieved, but also the fun element as well. It was an easy decision when choosing a dance school.
My daughter loves coming to class to practice her solo's for competitions but equally enjoys the time spent with her friends learning and practising for exam and show work.
Miss Taylor is extremely experienced with all parts of the IDTA, giving every child an equal opportunity whilst promoting discipline in all aspects of dance.
Good teaching needs to start with a passion for the subject and this in turn fuels the motivation to
develop the necessary skills and knowledge required to stay current. In the field of dance it is
important that dancers at a young age are given the opportunity to be taught with consistency
and from the same teacher in conjunction with external specialists in their field. A variety of
teaching methods within training encourages diversity in response, application of acquired skills in
unfamiliar environments, a testing of resilience and a development in confidence through
affirmation of their ability. The best artists know when to switch on a healthy sense of self-assured
belief in order to entertain, embody characters to tell stories and move an audience.
These methods are in abundance at Adele’s school. She has a passion for both dance teaching
and nurturing creativity combined with a vision for success in her students, that is grounded in
experience and training. She ensures that her faculty encourage them to maximise their own
potential by developing a self-assured sense of achievement, while instilling a hunger for seeking
the best version of their skills at each step along the way.
Experience has allowed the teachers at the school to value the long-term nurturing that is
afforded through the longevity of a child’s training, by balancing this kind of patience with shortterm high expectations that come from imminent goals such as competitions, examinations and
shows. Upon encountering this achievement, students may develop a passion for working in the
performing arts and are extremely fortunate to have the option to experience classes and
choreography by professionals working in both the industry and vocational training colleges. This
gives them rare insight into the expectations of employable excellence demanded by professional
training and top choreographers.
There are few schools that manage to balance a sociable level of dance training without losing
sight of the valuable life skills that can be gained from it. Many dancers can attribute confident
body language, realistic hunger for success, strong body mechanics, social and conversational
skills, resilience, and an awareness of what it takes to succeed. Adele’s school embraces all of
these qualities in a supportive environment and former students have carried forward its ethics,
which have in turn created an excellent reputation across many vocational colleges and the
